Visual Artist

I have been making art and poetry as long as I can remember. Creativity has always been essential to me, as a way of life.

My artwork is experimental in nature. I like to play with my materials and allow intuition to guide the process. I draw, paint, sculpt, write, and make books.

I have a B.A. in Art from Austin College, a PhD. in Creative Writing from the University of North Texas, and many hours of credit toward an MFA in Sculpture. I co-founded the Ghost Town Arts Collective with Heidi Rushing, Ellen Weaver, Cedra Wood, and Rhaine Murray in 2006, and remained involved in a leadership position until 2020. I am currently on the Board of Directors for the Denison Arts Council, and am working with other local and regional artists to promote the arts in our community.
